However, the products they were using were either designed for adults or packed with harsh chemicals, often causing more harm than good. Our Story
On a Christmas morning two and a half years ago, my daughter unwrapped a children's makeup palette. Delighted, she covered her face with the shadows and blushes, wearing them proudly throughout the day. As evening approached, we gently reminded her to remove the makeup. However, upon attempting to do so, she discovered it had stubbornly stained her skin. Concerned, I turned to the internet for guidance, only to stumble upon a plethora of alarming accounts: children suffering from eye infections, skin irritations, even hospital visits, all attributed to poorly made children’s makeup palettes.
Thus began my journey down a rabbit hole of research into children's makeup. I stumbled upon a documentary revealing the appalling conditions in which some makeup is manufactured, with ingredients sourced from the lowest of standards, even contaminated with animal waste. Shocked and dismayed, I pondered, "If adults have a range from low-end to high-end makeup, shouldn't children have the same?"
My quest for high-quality, safe makeup for children yielded disappointing results. Existing options were lackluster, unimpressive, and often exorbitantly priced. Determined to fill this void, I embarked on a mission to create a natural, high-end makeup brand specifically tailored for children and teens.
Drawing upon my background in makeup artistry, I meticulously researched natural ingredients suitable for young skin, experimenting with formulas until I achieved a product that not only met safety standards but also excited the same way as luxury adult cosmetics.
However, my journey didn't end with makeup. Observing my daughter's curiosity about skincare, I realized the need for safe, age-appropriate skincare products for young ones.
On night I was putting on my own face cream and my daughter said “mommy can I have some?” Instantly I told her no. Because thats what my grandma told me “your skin is to young you don’t need this”….. which is correct. But I wondered if we were taught to take care of our skin properly when we were young then wed probably not have such bad skin as we got older.
This marked the next months of experimentation and refinement which led to the development of a line of skincare products tailored specifically for young skin. Eager to ensure the efficacy and safety of my creations, I enlisted the help of fellow parents and their children as testers. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, affirming the success of my endeavors.
But, I envisioned more than just a makeup and skincare brand. I aspired to spark a movement, one that redefined how makeup is approached by young individuals. Beyond mere cosmetics, I sought to instill values of self-care, self-love, and confidence. My brand became a beacon for empowerment, encouraging young people to embrace their individuality while fostering a deeper appreciation for skincare and self-expression. Then Ta-Da! Flower Baby!
