Self Care for Kids, Teens and Tweens?

Learning self-care at a young age sets the foundation for a lifetime of healthy habits and emotional well-being. For children and teens aged 8 to 16, developing self-care practices helps build resilience, self-awareness, and a positive self-image. It’s during these formative years that young people learn how to manage stress, establish boundaries, and prioritize their mental and physical health—skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.

Self-care also encourages independence and responsibility. By learning to take care of themselves early, young people are better equipped to handle challenges, make thoughtful decisions, and maintain balance in a busy world. Teaching self-care helps them understand that taking time for themselves isn’t selfish—it’s essential for their growth and happiness.

Examples of Self-Care for Ages 8-16:

  1. Physical Self-Care:

    • Staying hydrated and eating balanced meals.

    • Engaging in regular physical activity, such as dancing, playing a sport, or simply going for a walk.

    • Getting enough sleep and maintaining a consistent bedtime routine.

  2. Emotional Self-Care:

    • Journaling feelings or keeping a gratitude journal.

    • Practicing mindfulness or deep breathing exercises to manage stress.

    • Talking to a trusted adult or friend about their feelings.

  3. Social Self-Care:

    • Spending quality time with friends and family.

    • Joining clubs or groups that align with their interests, like art, music, or sports.

    • Learning to set healthy boundaries in relationships.

  4. Creative Self-Care:

    • Expressing themselves through drawing, painting, writing, or playing music.

    • Trying new hobbies or activities that spark joy.

  5. Digital Self-Care:

    • Taking breaks from screens and social media.

    • Curating a positive online environment by following uplifting accounts.

  6. Personal Development:

    • Setting small, achievable goals and celebrating their progress.

    • Reading books that inspire and educate.

    • Learning new skills, like cooking, crafting, or coding.

By instilling the value of self-care early, young people can grow into confident, well-rounded individuals who know how to prioritize their well-being in every stage of life.

Healthy Skin Starts from Within

Your skin reflects what’s happening inside your body. Staying hydrated by drinking enough water helps flush out toxins and keeps your skin plump and radiant. Pair this with a balanced diet tailored to your body’s needs—rich in fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, and proteins—and you’ll nourish your skin from the inside out. To complement this, using Flower Baby skincare will help keep your skin clean, healthy, and glowing from the outside.

How to Properly Wash Your Face and Apply Face Cream

Taking care of your skin starts with proper cleansing and moisturizing. Follow these steps to ensure your skin stays clean, healthy, and hydrated.

Step 1: Wash Your Face

  1. Start with Clean Hands

    • Always wash your hands first to avoid transferring dirt and bacteria to your face.

  2. Splash Your Face with Lukewarm Water

    • Avoid water that’s too hot or too cold, as it can irritate your skin. Lukewarm water is gentle and helps open your pores for better cleansing.

  3. Apply Face Wash

    • Squirt a small amount of face wash into your hands.

    • Lather Flower Baby Face Wash  between your palms and gently massage it onto your face using circular motions. Focus on areas prone to buildup, like your forehead, nose, and chin. Avoid scrubbing harshly, as this can damage your skin.

  4. Rinse Thoroughly

    • Use lukewarm water to rinse your face completely, ensuring no product is left behind.

  5. Pat Your Skin Dry

    • Gently pat your face dry with a clean, soft towel. Avoid rubbing, as this can be too harsh on your skin.

Step 2: Apply Face Cream

  1. Choose the Right Face Cream

    • Pick between or origin or heiress cream based on your skin care needs.

  2. Use a Small Amount

    • Take pea-sized amount of cream on your fingertip and dot it to your forehead, then repeat to your cheeks and again a pea sized dot on your chin. A little goes a long way, so avoid using too much to prevent clogging pores.

  3. Apply to Your Face

    • Very gently massage the cream into your face in an upwards motion, try to avoid rubbing or pushing and pulling. Start with your forehead, then move to your cheeks, nose, and chin. Massage the excess into your jawline and neck. The skin under your jawline and neck is the same that is on your face and is prone to the same problems.

  4. Massage Gently

    • Use upward, circular motions to massage the cream into your skin. This encourages better absorption and promotes circulation.

  5. Allow It to Absorb

    • Give your skin a minute or two to fully absorb the product before applying makeup or sunscreen.

Tips for Best Results:

  • Wash your face twice a day: in the morning to refresh your skin and at night to remove dirt, oil, and makeup.

  • Always follow cleansing with moisturizing to keep your skin hydrated and balanced.

  • Be consistent with your skincare routine for long-term results.

By following these steps, you can keep your skin looking healthy, clear, and glowing!

Why You Should Use Makeup Remover Before Face Wash

Makeup remover is an essential first step in your skincare routine. It effectively breaks down makeup, sunscreen, and excess oils that can clog pores or linger on the skin. While face wash cleanses the surface, it may not fully remove stubborn products like waterproof mascara or long-wear foundation. Using makeup remover ensures a clean slate, allowing your face wash to deeply cleanse and care for your skin. For best results, always double cleanse!
